From April 12 to May 11, Garage Art Center presents sculptor Jackie Shatz's solo exhibition "View Finder." This exhibition will offer a special opportunity to explore the intersection of space, form, and sensation through unique wall-mounted sculptural works. Jackie Shatz is an artist who approaches sculpture with a painter's sensibility. Her wall sculptures exist at the intersection of painting and sculpture, stillness and movement, figurative and abstract, exploring suspended states of being and the permeable nature of time. Images of swimming, floating, and "about to" gestures suggest anticipation, hesitation, anxiety, or relief. These characteristics emerged naturally through the selection of figures and the creative process, with meanings hidden like those in dreams. This exhibition will feature 11 ceramic-based wall sculptures depicting animal, plant, and human forms. Through works that blend unique forms and textures, viewers will encounter unpredictable narratives and sensory experiences.
