Call for Artist Submissions – Black Iris Art Gallery Black Iris is seeking artists for upcoming exhibitions in our gallery, located in Richmond’s Arts District. Shows launch on First Fridays as part of the monthly citywide Art Walk, bringing heavy foot traffic and community engagement. Gallery Spaces: - Main Gallery: 123 linear feet - Ray Hall Hall: 31 linear feet. Artists must have a cohesive body of work to fill their assigned space. Event Requirements: Artists must participate in 3 events during the exhibit month: 1. Opening Reception (First Friday – required) 2. Closing Reception 3. One other event (talk, workshop, etc.). Mediums & Display: All mediums are welcome, but sculpture is limited due to event use of the space—wall-mounted or low-footprint only. We encourage artists to have prints or small works available to make their work more accessible. Commission: Gallery retains 40% of all sales. Artists keep 60%.
