Pit Fire Festival Collaborative Residency- Mural
 Residencies

The Cochise College Art and Humanities Department is bringing in one sculptor and one muralist to collaborate with students from all of our campuses to create works for the Pit Fire Pottery Festival. Artists will be selected by an application process and voted on by Arts faculty. The sculptor will work with our 3D students to make an impermanent sculpture that will be burned during the festival. The mural artist will collaborate with our 2D students to create a mural on a decommissioned semi-trailer leading up to the PitFire event. Selected artists will be invited to give an artist talk during their time at the college and will be offered an exhibition in our campus gallery. Each artist will be asked to work on-campus during the 2 weeks leading up to the event, and will receive an honorarium of $2,000 to cover lodging, travel, and stipend. In addition, we will provide and prepare up to $500 of purchased materials for the project (on top of available classroom and studio supplies). We will work with the accepted artists to plan the best timing for class visits and artist talks, and for working with students to create the artworks from November 1st- November 15th. We do have some flexibility here, so please mention any time constraints in your application.
