PH21 Gallery presents: 'Monochrome' – A Curated International Photography Exhibition

Monochrome photography is commonly associated with black-and-white images. However, throughout the history of photography, other tones such as sepia and cyan have also been utilized. Today, numerous examples of monochromatic images exist, deriving their photographic qualities from the tonal range of a single colour. While monochromacy was once a technological constraint, it has now become more of an artistic choice. Photographers may opt to work with the shades of a single colour for compositional or expressive reasons, and their decision should be interpreted accordingly. Our appreciation of contemporary monochromatic images is rooted in the understanding that the lack of colour range holds significance and meaning, rather than being a mere technological limitation. PH21 Gallery invites photographers to submit their work for a group exhibition themed Monochrome. We are looking for submissions from all photographers who create black-and-white or other monochromatic images and would like to share their work with a wider international audience through the exposure provided by PH21 Gallery. We welcome submissions from all photographic genres, including abstract compositions. We are interested in all possible creative photographic interpretations of the theme.
